I had taken bits of my idea from my sketch to try form small models that could be used to develop for my final model. I have sorted then from which seems more interior to exterior. Also, arranging them from lightest to darkest.

When I think of sleep/wake I think of the movement of when we are awake and how we keep flowing and moving as life goes on whilst when we are asleep we are curled up in our own space and are still. That is what I have conveyed within my sketch.

25/03
We were asked to divide page into 4 horizontal bands.
Where we would draw in relation to sleep/wake.
1.SLEEP (eyes shut) consider light/dark
2.WAKE (eyes open) consider opening/closing
3.SLEEP (eyes shut) consider movement/stasis (still)
4.WAKE (eyes open) consider horizontal/vertical

The first drawing I was really confused, as you maybe able to see the confusion in the drawing. However, I believe I was trying to draw a light shining down with the dark areas where the light is not shining.
Second drawing is my perception of opening and closing. Where the opening is the lines flowing in loops and continuing . However, the portray the concept of closing I put a big boulder to block the line from continuing.

My third drawing portrays movement/stasis (still) where it’s like a hurricane but I had drawn it horizontally. The hurricane represents movement as it continues rotating. However, I had ended the hurricane with a dot. Symbolizing the stillness of the hurricane.
Lastly, my forth drawing shows horizontal and vertical by using distorted rectangles, as I rotate and scale the rectangles.
